Missionaries & Missions

LCBC has assisted in supporting missionaries and missionary outreaches that are involved with evangelism, discipleship, training, church planting, and short-term missions since 1998. In addition, we have supported missionaries who agree with our doctrinal statement, have been connected with LCBC in some way, and those who continue to correspond with our church.  Here is a brief bio on each of these missionaries or mission outreaches

 

  

Jim & Barbara Grunseth - Campus Crusade

Jim and Barbara Grunseth live in Elkhorn, WI, and they are the parents of 7 adult children.  They serve on the National Leadership Team of Life Builders of Campus Crusade for Christ.  Life Builders is committed to enlisting, equipping and mobilizing men, women, and young adults in helping to fulfill our Lord's Great Commission.  They are involved in training through local churches.  Jim and Barbara also lead a small group called Marriage Patriots, and Jim uses his biblical counseling degree to do marriage and family counseling in Southeastern Wisconsin. They also speak regularly at Christian marriage and family conferences, retreats, and camps.

 Bud & Nancy Pederson - World Ministries

Bud is now serving as the International Vice President of World Ministries. Bud has a vision to assist churches worldwide in developing a coordinated, church-wide approach to making disciples.  He began his ministry as a pastor in the states, their family then served as missionaries in France, and then Bud began this ministry with T-Net International.  Bud has assisted in starting training centers for Pastors overseas.  His work has recently centered on India. Bud and Nancy live in Delafield and have 2 adult daughters.

Chris & Melanie Saberin – New Tribes Mission

Chris and Melanie and their 4 children live in Waukesha, WI, and serve at the New Tribes Bible Institute. After the political unrest and changes in Venezuela, the Saberins were asked to serve at the Bible School.  Chris serves as the Finance Office Manager and also is part of the leadership team.  In addition to raising and home schooling their children, Melanie assists with the grading of papers for the instructors at the Bible School. Chris and Melanie are active in ministry at LCBC.

Thomas & Marykutty Samuel

Thomas & Marykutty Samuel serve with South Asian Ministries in a mission known as “Quiet Corner India Mission”. Thomas and Marykutty are the founders of Quiet Corner, and have faithfully worked with the people of the villages of their native India, bringing the Word of God in their own language into as many homes as possible. They continue to distribute Bibles to homes in the surrounding villages and are sending out their own missionaries to other parts of India. Thomas has also been instrumental in establishing Bible Schools to train Indian pastors. Marykutty also works with the women and girls, teaching them to sew. They also minister to the people of this area with a feeding program and children’s ministry. The mission has also established Quiet Corner Campsite for Christian camping.

Mike & Donna Sigfrids - Athletes In Action (AIA)

Mike and Donna live in Ohio and serve with AIA, which is the sports branch of Campus Crusade for Christ.  They are both involved in discipling, training, and recruiting men and women to play on AIA basketball teams that travel around the world on short-term mission trips. The teams play college and professional teams from many countries, run sports camps and clinics, and share the Gospel with the teams and crowds present.  Mike has an opportunity to share his faith with leaders of nations, professional athletes, and families. Former AIA players from around the world often recruit players to study in the states which provide them the opportunity to live in a Christian home and learn about faith in Jesus.

Eric Smith – New Tribes Mission

Eric Smith lives in Waukesha, WI, where he serves at New Tribes Bible Institute. Eric works in the food service area for the Bible Institute and is involved with food preparation for the students.  Eric encourages the students in their walk with the Lord.  He also participates in student activities and outreaches. Eric attends LCBC and assists with the sound ministry.

Will & Kelly Tallman – New Tribes Mission

Will and Kelly Tallman live in Papua New Guinea where they work with the Kuman People. The Tallmans live in a primitive village with their 4 children.  Will works with preparing Bible lessons that correspond to the books of the Bible that have been translated into the language of the people in their area.  They also teach a literacy program so that the Kuman People will be able to read God’s word in their own language as it is translated. The Tallmans have also planted a church for their community where they teach God’s word that has been translated.

AD Mission

AD Mission is a ministry designed to help churches work together to use the secular media as a means of spreading the Good News. Television, radio, billboards, and newspapers are all utilized to communicate a unified message from a unified group - The Christian Church! The vision of AD Mission is to communicate the truths of God's love and forgiveness through this generation's communication tool of choice - the media.  Joel Hasz leads this ministry which began after he had served with Campus Crusade for Christ.  Joel's interest in drama and media led him to help found this new ministry called AD Mission.  Support is given for Super Bowl AD Mission campaigns.

Good News Club - Child Evangelism Fellowship

Child Evangelism Fellowship is an international, Bible-centered, faith ministry dedicated to the task of winning boys and girls to Christ. One of the main outreaches of this ministry is the Good News Club.  These are Bible clubs held in both public elementary and middle schools. There are presently 40 clubs in SE Wisconsin and 29 of these are run by churches like LCBC.  Lake Country School is the site for our Good News Club which is held weekly during the school year. Another major outreach of CEF is Summer 5 Day Clubs. Good News Clubs is presently supported by purchasing curriculum and supplies and staffing GNC as needed.
